Saxony’s highest mountain is the venue for 3 excellent sporting events this weekend.
Our sporty weekend kicks off with the start of the historic FICHKONA.
Cycle from the highest peak in Saxony over a distance of 617 km to Cape Arkona – in 24 hours!
What makes many people freeze in awe is starting for the 25th time on the Fichtelberg and is looking forward to almost 200 participants.
The start on the Fichtelberg takes place on Saturday, 8.6.
in 4 groups from 10:00 am.
From around 12:30 p.m., we look forward to the first 80 starters of the FichelbergUltra crossing the finish line.
The ultramarathon is very popular in the running scene and is starting for the 10th time in Klaffenbach/Chemnitz.
The route leads the athletes over 55 km and approx. 1600 meters of altitude
The crowning finale is the finish of the Fichtelberg Cycle Marathon on Sunday, 9.6.
from approx. 12:00 noon.
The approx. 1000 athletes have to cover approx. 94 km and approx. 1900 meters of altitude on their racing bikes.
Here, too, the start is in Chemnitz and here, too, one wonders how the fastest can manage this in approx. 3 hours?
The event was already very popular last year, generating great enthusiasm among guests and frenetic cheering on the last few meters to the summit.
Together with you, we look forward to great sport by bike and on foot – and we are proud to support these three events in partnership with our strengths and thus make our contribution to the preservation and development of voluntary work in elite and popular sport.
The weather gods also seem to be rewarding the great commitment of the organizers, as the outlook is sunny!
In this context, please note possible restrictions on the Fichtelbergstraße and greatly reduced parking facilities on the Fichtelberg.
The Fichtelbergstraße is not fully closed for the events, but temporary interruptions to the flow of traffic are to be expected for safety reasons. The friendly helpers along the Fichtelberg road and on the summit will be happy to inform you.
We recommend that those arriving by car and motorcycle use the parking areas at the Erzgebirgs-Sparkassen Skiarena and at the Fichtelberghütte or park your vehicle in one of the numerous parking lots in Oberwiesenthal and visit the Fichtelberg with the four-seater chairlift or the Fichtelberg cable car.
Are you a guest of the Hotel Fichtelberghaus?
Don’t worry!
Your access to the hotel and your parking space at the hotel are secured.
